Aqua Beach Bungalows Playa del Ingles - Gay Men Only

We were due to travel from London to Gran Canaria on 26 December 2020, having prepaid EUR 1800. However, a few days before that date, because of the new strain of COVID present in the UK, the Spanish government banned UK travelers from entering the country (including the Canary Islands). We wrote several times to Aqua Beach to ask what could be done, but have had no response to date. We tried calling on the phone, but the person answering always said he had nothing to do with reservations and could not help us. He also said that there was no one in the office to address our query. Obviously, the manager has decided to ignore our calls and emails. Given that the travel restriction came from the Spanish government, we would argue that at a minimum a voucher should have been issued to be used in the future. Taking our money and then ignoring our calls and emails is unethical and unprofessional. Shame on Aqua Beach for this very bad behaviour!

Some years ago, we stayed in the aqua beach hotel and it wasn’t a great experience. When we ran into problems with Covid, the hotel was absolutely not supportive and made our situation even worse. When asked for the paper to complain, we got an outdated version which wasn’t accepted afterwards. Never experienced this anywhere else in Gran Canaria - everyone is usually friendly and supportive.
