Various Venues, Detroit, USA

Ferndale Pride 2026 is officially happening on Saturday, May 30, 2026! The event is set to showcase a vibrant blend of activities, including performances by top local and national artists.
Kicking off Pride Month a day early (āGay in May!ā), this one-day festival is known as Michiganās largest free Pride celebration and draws thousands to the quirky, LGBTQ-loving Detroit suburb of Ferndale. Expect a sprawling street fair with multiple stages, over 220 vendors, and inclusive fun for all ages!
What to Expect at Ferndale Pride 2026
Ferndale Pride isnāt a parade-focused event; itās an all-day festivalĀ that takes over West Nine Mile Road & surrounding streets right in downtown. Think of it as Pride block party meets summer fair.
Opening Ceremonies: Local leaders and activists kick off Pride at the main stage with a cheer. Ferndaleās mayor often speaks, reaffirming the cityās commitment to diversity.
Stages & Entertainment: There are three performance areas:
Planavon Performance Stage: Showcasing live bands, drag revues, and variety acts. In 2025, it was hosted by drag star Bentley James and featured fab segments like the Motorcity Drag Kings Drag Show, with headliner Baddie Brooks. Expect a mix of rock, pop, and drag numbers!
Woodward Dance Stage: A dedicated DJ stage pumping dance beats from 1 PM onward. Ferndaleās known for its DJ scene; this is where you channel your inner club kid under the afternoon sun, right on the street.
Community Stage / Reading Area: New in recent years is āReading with Royalty,ā where drag queens read kidsā stories during the day, followed by slots for youth talent showcases. Ferndale Pride gives stage time to queer teen singers, poetry slams, and more to uplift young voices.
Childrenās Area: A central Kids Zone brimming with family activities. From crafts and face painting to a āFamily Pride Porchā offering shade and games, it ensures even the littlest attendees have a blast. Ferndale Pride prides itself on being all-ages friendly.
200+ Vendors: The festival stretches for blocks with rows of booths. Youāll find everything: local artisans selling rainbow jewelry, LGBTQ-owned businesses, Detroit-area nonprofits handing out resources, Pride merch galore (yes, you need those unicorn socks). Itās the largest vending event Ferndale hosts all year.
Food & Drink: Downtown Ferndaleās restaurants and bars spill out onto the streets. Enjoy food truck fare (tacos, BBQ, vegan bites) or duck into local favorites like Imperial or Public House, which often have Pride specials. Beer tents and cocktail stations keep the party fueled. Perhaps try a āFerndale Fabulousā cocktail if offered.
Photo Ops: Donāt miss the Rainbow Crosswalk. ThisĀ permanently painted at the iconic intersection of 9 Mile and Woodward Ave is a Ferndale Pride hotspot for pictures. They also roll out a pink carpet for glam selfies and have giant Pride letter signs to pose with.
If you want a Pride that feels like a big queer family reunion, Ferndale is the place to be on May 30th!
